Since 2004, artists, event organisers and visitors have brought this unique cultural centre in the heart of the city to life. With its diverse programme of events, concerts and exhibitions, spacious courtyard and Turnhalle Bar, PROGR is a welcoming place to spend time. It is also an ideal venue for events, conferences and banquets – including yours.

Aula

Aula at PROGR

The Aula (auditorium) belongs to the PROGR foundation. It is situated on the first floor, on top of the cafe and bar "Turnhalle". The Aula offers room for up to 200 guests and is suited for a diversity of events: concerts, panel discussions, rehearsals, etc.. We do not rent it out for private occasions such as birthdays or weddings.

Caterings

From September 2022 on the foundation offers its own catering. Simple, easy and yet indivdually tailored - and yummy of course! If you are interested in a PROGR Catering give us a heads up in the request for reservation.

Kleine Bühne at PROGR

The Kleine Bühne (small stage) belongs to the PROGR foundation. It is situated on the first floor, on top of the cafe and bar "Lehrerzimmer". The Kleine Bühne offers room for up to 50 guests and is suited for a diversity of events: concerts, panel discussions, rehearsals, etc.. We do not rent it out for private occasions such as birthdays or weddings.

Atelier 368

Atelier 368 at PROGR

Atelier 368 is available for rent through the PROGR Foundation. This bright, spacious and quiet room is located on the third floor in the central wing of the cultural centre. Just a five-minute walk from the train station, it is ideal for conferences, meetings or retreats. Atelier 368 is equipped with tables and chairs for up to 25 people, flip charts, a large screen for presentations and a kitchen. The spacious corridor overlooking the courtyard can also be used – whether for a break and a game of table tennis or as an additional workspace.

Further Information

Atelier 368 is equipped with tables and chairs for up to 25 people, flip charts, a large screen for presentations and a kitchen.
The spacious corridor overlooking the courtyard can also be used – as an additional workspace, for a break and a game of table tennis, or as a space for an apéro.

Rooftop Apartment at PROGR

The rooftop apartment is available for rent through the PROGR Foundation. The apartment, with four rooms, a kitchen, a balcony and two bathrooms, is located on the fourth floor in the east wing of PROGR.

The rooms can be rented by artists, cultural organisations and other interested guests. You can rent either the entire apartment or individual rooms. There are two single rooms, one room with a double bed and one room with two single beds.

The apartment on the fourth floor can be reached by lift or stairs. Cleaning before and after your stay, fresh bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included in the rental price.

Rates

These rates apply exclusively to artists and employees of cultural organisations.

All other guests can book individual rooms or the entire apartment via Airbnb.

Kulturpunkt

Since 2012, the Kulturpunkt has been located on the ground floor of PROGR’s west wing (room 009, Speichergasse 4). It is flanked by galleries and restaurants and is only a few minutes walk from Bern’s main station.

The Kulturpunkt is a flexible, multifunctional 60 m2 space for 50 - 60 people. It has proven itself as an exhibition and event space for meetings, workshops, readings, screenings as well as lounge and festival center.

The Kulturpunk has its own staircase entrance from PROGR’s west courtyard and is fully wheelchair accessible (automatic door opening at the entrance to Speichergasse 4 including a new wheelchair elevator and wheelchair-friendly toilet.

The Hauptsitz (room 010, ground floor) can be rented in the evenings and on weekends.

Infos zum Co-Working Angebot

Stube

The Stube is centrally located in the PROGR cultural center, five minutes walking distance from the main station. The room is suitable for a range of activities from meetings, workshops and courses to creative projects, movement, dance, children’s singing afternoons or even as a performance venue.

The room offers considerable atmosphere with its 62 m2 floor space, high, bright windows and its own staircase into the inner courtyard.

The spatial arrangements are completely flexible and consist of a small kitchenette, cozy sofas, a mirrored wall, blackboard, beamer, flipchart, sound system incl. microphones and stands, as well as tables and chairs for up to 30 people.

Erlesen – A Space for Fine Print

erlesen – A Space for Fine Print is centrally located in the PROGR cultural centre, with direct access from the peaceful courtyard – just a five-minute walk from the main train station.

“erlesen” is primarily used as a publishing office and exhibition space, but can also be rented for workshops, meetings, courses and various small-group events for up to approximately 20 people. Surrounded by fine print, it is an inspiring place to think, work, discuss and develop ideas.

Upon request, the erlesen cooperative offers short presentations of special print publications as well as tailored interventions centred around wordplay and language as an art form. We are also happy to provide simple apéro catering and can put together a suitable offer for your event.

The rentable space covers approximately 40 m² and is equipped with chairs and modular tables, a flip chart, a blackboard (with chalk and sponge!) and a fold-out projection screen (Super 8 format).

The progr_013 space by pakt bern – das neue musik netzwerk is centrally located in the PROGR cultural centre and can be reached within just a few minutes from Bern main train station. In addition to concerts and rehearsals, the space can be used for meetings and workshops related to contemporary music.

The space is equipped with a sound system consisting of two top speakers and a subwoofer, a table for six people and seating for up to 30 people. A grand piano is also available to rent upon request.

With almost 50 m² of usable floor space, three windows and a completely flexible setup, this bright room facing Hodlerstrasse is a hidden gem within the PROGR cultural centre.

Proberaum 313

Room 313, located on the third floor of the west wing of PROGR Bern, is rented out by Kultur Stadt Bern on a daily or weekly basis. With a floor area of 80 m², it is available at reduced rates, primarily for the temporary development and rehearsal of professional theatre and dance productions. When not otherwise in use, the room is also available for other cultural activities.
