An artist talk with Sibel Kocakaya and Jonas Schnyder.
The talk will focus on the performance practice of Sibel Kocakaya and Jonas Schnyder, who both study in the CAP program at HKB. Both document their performances on video. How has the relationship between documentation and performance changed with the recent development of digital media? What is the role of the body of the performer? What potential lies in the repetitive, almost trivial gestures of Kocakaya’s and Schnyder’s works? These are some questions that will be discussed with the artists and the audience.
The talk will be moderated by Stefanie Marlene Wenger, art historian and curator based in Bern.
